Must Try Dishes For A Classic Steakhouse Experience At The Venetian Chop House

Start off your classic steakhouse experience with a delicious selection of appetizers, soups and salads. It will be tough to only choose one, so we ordered several and created a multi-course dinner. A gorgeous plate of Carpaccio of Beef Tenderloin served with baby arugula and pickled shallots and a superb Lobster Bisque with fabulous tableside presentation were our top favorites. If you’re in the mood for a salad, you can’t go wrong with a crisp Iceberg Wedge topped with applewood smoked bacon, red onion, cherry tomato, and chopped almonds for a nice crunch contrast and housemade danish blue cheese dressing.

Carpaccio of Beef Tenderloin:

A plentiful portion of thinly shaved 1855® Black Angus Beef Tenderloin is meticulously shingled on the plate for a stunning presentation. Create the perfect bite of tender beef with peppery baby arugula accented with lemon oil, shavings of Parmigiano-Reggiano,

and an added touch of flavor with Calabrian aioli. Pickled shallots and tangy teardrop peppers add pleasing pops of acidity to contrast the richness of the carpaccio.

In line with Executive Chef David Hackett’s mission to source only the finest ingredients for his new menu, we learned The Venetian Chop House uses 1855® Black Angus Beef. Single-sourced from family ranchers in Great Plains, Nebraska, a region known for its superior Black Angus cattle production. The highest quality beef is a must for a fine carpaccio.

Lobster Bisque:

According to Chef Hackett, one dish in particular has always caught guests' attention, the Lobster Bisque. The popular starter has been on The Venetian Chop House menu for over 15 years, and is being reintroduced with a refined presentation. We couldn’t resist trying a bowl and quickly became fans. The creamy lobster soup is served tableside, poured over substantial chunks of tender lobster and it is the epitome of decadence. Creamy and flavorful, the bisque is highlighted with rich lobster flavor.  Sherry adds a touch of sophistication as does to the lattice puff pastry dome that makes this bisque feel like an extra-special treat fit for a special occasion.

For your main course, one of The Venetian's signature steaks is a must. Choose from a selection of premium cuts, from a Filet Mignon to a Bone-In Ribeye, all cooked to perfection. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Double Bone Domestic Lamb Chops or Bison Short Ribs with  Onion Jam.

36 oz Tomahawk for Two:

Steak lovers, the 36 oz Tomahawk Ribeye steak is perfect for sharing between two people, and it's certainly a show-stopping dish. The beautifully marbled Black Angus Beef steak is cooked to a juicy, pink center with signature grill marks on the outside. This impressive presentation is definitely a feast to be shared. The juicy and tender steak melted in our mouths. Chef David recommends combining the Tomahawk with the 2-pound Crab Stuffed Maine Lobster for Orlando’s Ultimate Surf & Turf experience. We cannot wait to indulge on our next visit!

Choose to enhance your steak dinner with one of The Venetian Chop House signature sauces including Béarnaise, Triple Red Wine Demi, Porcini Beurre Blanc, or Truffle Butter. A lovely accompaniment to your classic steak dinner is a chef-inspired side including Creamed Spinach with Pernod Scented Cream, Potatoes au Gratin with White Cheddar Cream, Parmesan Panko Crust, Lobster Mac N’ Cheese, or Steamed Broccolini with hollandaise.

A classic steakhouse dinner is not complete without a decadent dessert to end the night. For classic Crème Brûlée fans, you’ll have a trio of vanilla, chocolate and grand marnier to enjoy. Perfect when you can’t choose one flavor, have all three! However, Executive Pastry Chef Joshua Cain’s extensive experience and innovation is truly showcased with a show-stopping Chocolate Sphere. This one wins our chocolate-loving hearts!

Ultimate Chocolate Sphere:

It’s always a treat when you get dinner and a show all in one! At The Venetian Chop House, diners can enjoy several table-side presentations but none is as captivating as the Ultimate Chocolate Sphere. Prepare to be dazzled by a fiery table-side presentation then quickly break into and devour the most tempting chocolate creation.

Chef Joshua Cain says “With the Ultimate Chocolate Sphere, we wanted to entice all your senses, especially visual as well as taste. Starting with a dark chocolate and chewy caramel tart it will wake up the taste buds for sure. We then added texture to the tart with decadent brownie pieces and topped it with milk chocolate hazelnut crunch glazed chocolate gelato. At the table, we melt the chocolate sphere with caramel alcohol to reveal the treat inside.”

Must Try Dishes For The Italian Fine Dining Experience At The Venetian Chop House

Now that we’ve covered the steakhouse classics, let’s take a tour of Italian Fine Dining without leaving The Venetian Chop House table! Start your meal with the Local Burrata with yellow and red tomatoes and roasted eggplant for an enticing combination of flavors and textures or indulge in a traditional Primi course of sumptuous Mushroom Risotto topped with shaved fresh black truffles. From there, a Secondi course with either the On-The-Bone Veal Parmigiana or Chilean  Sea Bass Puttanesca. Finish your meal with the Signature Italian Dessert tasting, including 4  classic desserts we savored with a frothy cappuccino.

Local Burrata:

You could easily share the luxurious ball of local burrata served atop roasted eggplant, yellow and red roasted tomato, with a sprinkle of peppery micro arugula and extra virgin olive oil, but why? The individual pipette of house balsamic glaze is a fun, interactive element that allows you to create the perfect bite of burrata goodness. Order a few for the table!

Wild Mushroom Risotto:

The star of the show was the risotto made with wild mushrooms and shaved black truffle. It was rich and flavorful, a savory, earthy risotto with an extra touch of decadence from the fresh black truffle. Enjoy as a starter with a glass of prosecco or as a perfect accompaniment to pair with one of the Venetian Chop House prime beef steaks.

A Modern Take on Veal Parmesan and Chicken Parmesan

14 oz On-The-Bone Veal Parmigiana:

Chef Hackett puts his modern spin on a beloved Italian favorite with the new Veal Parmigiana served on the bone. The thick-cut veal chop is tender and juicy, with a lightly breaded crust topped with marinara sauce, melty mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, arugula, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The flavors are comforting and familiar, however, the new preparation lacks the heaviness of Veal Parmesan on most Italian restaurant menus. And the presentation will surely inspire some “wows” when it arrives at the table.

“I was inspired by the neighborhood local restaurants on the South Side of Chicago; Veal was very popular back then, it was a preferred and upscale offering but could often be a heavy dish” agrees Chef Hackett. “We’ve brought it back, with a more modern presentation and preparation, and it is a must-have at The Venetian.”

10 oz Chicken Parmigiana:

Fans of a classic Chicken Parmesan will be similarly delighted by the crispy coated, generously sized chicken breast as the star of the Chicken Parmigiana. The fresh marinara sauce and melted mozzarella are appropriate accents to the dish. We are happy to share that there was no soggy chicken on our plate.

“Similar to the Veal Chop, I wanted the Chicken Parm to have more texture,” explains Chef Hackett. “That is the reason why we don’t overpower the dish with ladels of  marinara. We like the golden pan-fried edges with enough sauce to carry through the  dish.”

Seafood and Pasta Options

Chilean Sea Bass Puttanesca:

Revel in the flavors of the Mediterranean with each bite of the Chilean Sea Bass Puttanesca. The famous dish originating in Naples, Italy, combines briny anchovies and kalamata olives with garlic and crushed tomatoes. The piquant sauce contrasts the delightfully mild and buttery grilled Chilean Sea Bass, it’s a lovely option for the pescatarian or those seeking a lighter meal. Bet you can’t have just one bite!

Tagliatelle Bolognese:

If you’re craving pasta and consider it a must for your Italian Steakhouse fine dining experience, order the hearty Tagliatelle Bolognese. The meaty tomato sauce is topped with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and served with toasted crostini with whipped ricotta, fresh basil, and herbed olive oil pearls. It’s another stunning and inventive presentation of a classic. We recommend ordering one and sharing it with the table as your pasta course.

An Italian feast is not complete without delicious wine pairings, and The Venetian Chop House has you covered with an extensive wine selection. We discovered by the glass and by the bottle wine lists feature wine for every flavor preference and palate. Not sure what wine will complement your meal? We followed the wine pairing recommendations from our server and were enchanted with the wine selections. Start with a crisp Prosecco and cheers to a delicious meal ahead!
